Discovering that your partner is cheating on you has to be one the most awful and devastating things a person can experience.
The anger and disappointment it causes can be hard to live down, especially if you catch said person in the act of yourself.
The situation worsens when these revelations come to light on social media.
This is what allegedly happened to an American student named Jasmine, who received a DM from a girl named Rebekah who studied at the same university.
In the message, Rebekah claimed that she had caught Jasmine's boyfriend being very touchy-feely with another girl at a library.
Rebekah recognised the man from Jasmine's photos and decided to out the guy to his significant other.
In her message she wrote:
Hey girl, I know we don't know each other, just been mutuals on Twitter for a little bit. I go to UTSA too.
But I recognise who I think is your boyfriend in the library from all y'all's pictures on here and he's with a girl and he's being kind of touchy with her.
I didn't really know if I should message you/how to tell you but I have been full on cheated on before and girl to girl I'd want to know.
I hope this doesn't cause you a lot of problems. I feel really bad but I just thought it'd be wrong to witness it and not say anything, you know?
Tell me if you want me to fight him. I'll be here a while.Â
Anyone else would have probably broken down into hysterics upon hearing this news but at least Rebekah was there to protect Jasmine's honour, right?
Except there was one thing that Rebekah didn't know, that meant everything was going to be OK.
You see, her boyfriend has an identical twin brother and it was him who Rebekah had spotted with his girlfriend.
Jasmine let Rebekah know and it was quickly resolved but not before a brief chuckle.
She shared the exchange, complete with the brilliant twist on Twitter but was thankful that her fellow student was looking out for her.
Just to prove that Jasmine's boyfriend and his brother are identical here are a couple of pictures of the pair.
Jasmine's boyfriend is on the right and his twin is on the left.

Jasmine told indy100 that hey boyfriend was actually sitting right next to her when she received the Twitter message.
The tweet has since gone viral and received and lots of love in return.
