What your hands say about your health

The majority of men have a longer ring finger than an index finger, whereas women tend to have more or less the same length - the ratio is thought to bear relation to exposure to testosterone in utero.

Take a look at your hands, is this the same for you?

Digit ratio has long been discussed as symptomatic of certain traits.

Here’s a brief breakdown of what it could mean if your ring finger is longer than your index finger:

If you’re a man, that means you’re more likely to develop prostate cancer, according to a study from the British Journal of Cancer. You're also more likely to be fertile, and less likely to have a heart attack, according to studies in 2002 and 2001 respectively.

If you’re a woman, you’re also less likely to have a heart attack, but you’re likely to be less fertile. In addition, you’re more likely to be a lesbian, statistically speaking.

A German study from 2005 also found that you’re more likely to have better spatial skills if you’re a woman with a longer ring finger.

You’re more likely in general to be aggressive, and has been indirectly linked to wealth in a study of city traders by Cambridge researchers.

It should be stressed that these are all statistical studies and cannot possibly describe every individual - you're unique and your fingers don't tell you who you are, just where you sit on the bell curve of likelihood.

In addition, with apologies to Mr Trump, we have no idea what tiny hands mean.
