A hacker has planted both pornographic and intimate images of homosexuality on more than 250 Isis twitter accounts.
The hacker, known only as 'WauchalaGhost', began targeting accounts 18 months ago on the principle that he had to oppose the terrorist organisation's hatred. He has been threatened with beheading by the group.
He took the decision following the Orlando gay nightclub shooting, replacing hundreds of profiles' pro-Isis images with Pro-LGBT messages. He frequently tweeted links to gay pornography.
He told CNN:
I get beheading images… death threats. ‘We’re going to kill you’ and that’s good because if they are focusing on me they are not doing anything else.
We started to take over their accounts with porn and gay pride images basically just to troll them. We thought that putting the naked images would offend them.
“If the social media people like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram would stand up and do something it would help.
Sometimes you have to stand up and make a change for the good.
He claims it takes him 60 seconds to crack an account, saying most Isis posters have the technical skills of a 10 year old.
He also wanted to make clear a few things:
One thing I do want to say is we aren’t using graphic porn and our purpose is not to offend Muslims.
Our actions are directed at Jihadist extremists. Many of our own [group of hackers] are Muslim and we respect all religions that do not take innocent lives.
