Katy Colins
One year ago, travel blogger Katy Colins was working in public relations and about to get married. But that wasn't meant to be.
She got jilted by her partner - but instead of wallowing or getting angry, she decided to pack everything in and go travelling solo around South East Asia.
She writes on her blog, Not Wed or Dead:
Everyone did think I was a little mad, especially as I’d never travelled anywhere by myself before but it just felt right. I needed the time away from everything and everyone I knew to find myself.
My ex’s decision, although devastating at the time, was the wake-up call I needed. I had a good job, a lovely house and lived a comfortable lifestyle but it lacked adventure. Something I hoped travelling halfway around the world on my own would give me, and luckily it paid off.
She has since signed a book deal, had three books published, made headlines around the world about her story, and seen the Taj Mahal and the Himalayas!

Now, Katy has published a new blog post, sharing the news that she is getting married.
Not only that, but she’s marrying the journalist who broke the story of her travels.
Katy and John met when studying journalism together, but hadn’t spoken for ten years until he wrote the story about Katy.

She writes on her blog:
Sometimes you don’t know what you’re looking for until it’s right under your nose.
I am proof that being dumped can be the start of incredible things – proof that there’s someone out there who will turn up at the right time.
But that's not all - Katy has also announced she's pregnant.

But she says she will keep travelling:
While my upcoming travel plans may have been placed on pause, I’m determined that they’ll still happen – just with more child-friendly activities!
I’ve found my happily-ever-after and now I’m preparing myself for the next step.
