Donald Trump has been wrapped up in a racism scandal all week after telling four congresswomen to 'go back to their own countries' if they weren't happy with the United States.
After the president doubled down on his comments and refused to apologise, his supporters were emboldened to the point where they began chanting 'send her back' at a rally in North Carolina on Wednesday, a message clearly aimed at Somali-born congresswoman Ilhan Omar.
This led to Trump claiming that he disapproved of the chants and tried to get everyone to stop shouting as he 'started speaking very quickly' after it began. Trump appears to have a very unusual definition of what 'speaking very quickly' consists of as video has shown that he took 13 seconds after the chants started to begin speaking again and even appeared to bask in the moment that he had created.
In a fun challenge, The Daily Show tried to find other moments and feats in history that were actually shorter than the time Trump took to start talking again. These included solving a rubix cube underwater and spinning the wheel on The Price is Right.
However, the best is undoubtedly the revelation that Neil Armstrong's famous 'one small step for man' speech that he gave before he stepped foot on the moon 50 years ago was actually shorter than the 'send her back' chants.
Don't believe us, take a look for yourself.
People on social media were quick to share their own additions to the #BeatTheChant hashtag.
It's quite unbelievable that one of mankind's greatest achievements and most iconic moments (not to mention a rat carrying pizza down some stairs) didn't take as long as a bunch of people shouting something racist but this is 2019 and look how far we have come...
