We all know that Donald Trump doesn't believe in climate change or global warming. In fact, he's so confused that he is constantly getting the subjects confused with weather patterns.

Many people have schooled the president on his obvious ignorance on an issue that affects us all and something that he his actively trying to worsen by pulling out of the Paris agreement.

As he is the POTUS it's a little concerning that Trump doesn't subscribe to the scientific evidence that the planet is in dire straights and worryingly others who are associated with him are also deniers.

Steve Milloy isn't as well known as other former Trump associates but he was part of his campaign and presidential transition team before his inauguration in January 2017.

We should also point out that Milloy is a self-described 'libertarian' with close financial ties to tobacco and oil companies. Oh...and he is a Fox News contributor.

If you thought all of that was bad just wait to see what he tweeted on Saturday in response to an article from Politico on the future House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman, Peter DeFazio selecting a committee to combat climate change.

That's right a grown man, who has actual jobs and knows the president believes that the Earth will ultimately be fine because Venus, a completely different planet, is still there despite having 96.5 per cent C02 in its atmosphere.

We don't even know where to start with this. Not only is Venus completely inhospitable due to the aforementioned problems with its atmosphere but even with that in mind it's unlikely that the planet would vanish because of it.

Milloy's tweet quickly drew a lot of attention and rightly deserved derision with many people pointing out the obvious idiocy of his statement.

Others pointed out that the various reasons as to why there are no humans on Venus, nor are there any intentions for humans to go to Venus.

Even an 8-year-old knew this was a completely ridiculous take.

We're honestly amazed that he hasn't deleted this tweet yet and to show how heavily invested he is in this belief he's been on a Twitter rampage since Saturday, denouncing as many climate change stories as he can find.

You've really gotta hand it to Milloy, he clearly has a lot of affection for Venus and C02 and I for one will not stand in his way if he wants to go there.
