Casey Stoney is one of the most respected women in football.

The professional player, now retired, has racked up countless accolades - including an MBE - and famously became the first woman to ever be a member of the PFA's (Professional Footballers’ Association) management committee . But even she still has to deal with online trolls.

Earlier this week, she made headlines for winning the PFA’s prestigious Special Achievement Award.

But one Twitter user was quick to make a yawn-inducing sexist joke, which she responded to with a sassy quip of her own.

Her response went viral, and the initial jibe has now been deleted; not only is she a trailblazer, she’s also more than capable of standing her ground online, too.
