Do you remember the thigh gap? It was reported to have come into existence after the December 2012 Victoria's Secret fashion show paraded a wealth of extremely slim models down the catwalk, and a gap between the upper thighs became a beauty ideal that spawned many crazy diets.

And now, thigh gap jewellery is a thing...

The website's creator, Soo Kyung Bae, is a third year industrial design student at the National University of Singapore.

The jewellery pieces take the thigh-gap trend to another level, the pieces are created in hopes of sparking questions.

If we let the media to keep popularizing such unrealistic body ideal, will this eventually become reality?

One can use design to spark debate and reflection, to be a catalyst for people to decide for themselves about their position on this matter.

She addresses a growing problem related to unrealistic body standards, and pro-anorexia social media sites use the thigh gap as one of the markers for an ideal body.

Her website sparks a much-needed debate about body image, and the idea that notions of beauty are transient and constantly changing.
