People love to go on holiday. In fact, Britons are so eager to go abroad, that even in the peak of the recession over 91 per cent of us still planned to travel.
Expedia collected data from 31 million Britons who had travelled abroad last year, and this Statista chart demonstrates the top ten most common reasons:
The top two reasons cited, by almost 15 million Brits, was that it made people more relaxed (46 per cent) and feel happier (42 per cent).
Twenty per cent of Britons claimed that a holiday made them sleep better, and twenty one per cent said it brought them closer to their families.
