This friendship breakup Facebook status is the greatest relationship tragedy since Romeo and Juliet

On 13 September Asif Rasa Rana wrote a breakup message to his friend Mudasir on Facebook.

The message was public and has gone viral for its sheer frankness and openness. Rana called out Mudasir's new "proudy" attitude and included the stone-cold declaration that Rana will now be best friends with another friend, Salman.

The post read:

I DECLARE THAT I LEFT MY PAST BEST_FRIEND #MUDASIR_ISMAIL_AHMAD ....Because he became very selfish, Proudy, and those who shows me Attitude, I keep them under my Foot...... Huuhhh.......

Now SAlman AHmad Naqash is my best friend......Its for information to all

The post has been shared over 7,000 times and has now reached an international audience of commenters responding to the epically dramatic break up.

Rana told BuzzFeed News:

Before Salman I always thought that Mudasir was best for me.

When we — me and Mudasir — were often angry to each other, Salman always made a compromise between us, but when Salman and me were angry with each other, Mudasir never made a compromise between us.

Rana has, reportedly, yet to hear from Mudasir. Meanwhile, we wish Rana the best in his new friendship with Salman (pictured below).
