It's just over a week to go until the EU referendum, so naturally, Nigel Farage and Bob Geldof had a naval battle on the Thames.

Well. David Cameron did warn a Brexit could lead to World War III.

Ukip leader Farage was in charge of leading a flotilla of fishing vessels through central London to draw attention to how the British fishing industry has been "destroyed by the EU."

Whereas Geldof appeared to have hastily rented a Thames party boat with some bangin' speakers and rallied a few dinghys and RIBs to fly the 'In' flag too.

There were skirmishes. It looked like a few people aboard HMS Brexit had been drinking since about 11am.

The British populace were stoically dealing with this surreal turn of events. Even though it felt like we might be living in another episode of The Thick of It.

But the rest of the world - particularly those a few time zones behind us, who had just woken up - were looking at Wednesday morning's events and had only one question.
