The sure sign Donald Trump knows he got owned by Michelle Obama

First lady of the United States Michelle Obama brought the house down on Monday at the Democratic National Convention.

In a far-ranging and powerful speech, Obama talked about the power of hope in overcoming adversity in a passionate endorsement of Hillary Clinton for president.

I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves. And I watch my daughters — two beautiful intelligent black young women — play with the dog on the White House lawn.

And because of Hillary Clinton, my daughters and all of our sons and daughters now take for granted that a woman can be president of the United States.

Obama also mentioned the ugliness of recent political rhetoric from the Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, without actually mentioning him by name.

Don't let anyone ever tell you that this country is not great. That somehow we need to make it great again. Because this right now is the greatest country on Earth.

The kind of president that I want for my girls and all children... someone who understands that the issues a president faces are not black and white and cannot be boiled down to 140 characters.

Trump's wife, prospective first lady Melania Trump, was heavily critisied last week after it emerged that a part of her speech to the Republican National Convention was in fact plagiarised from a speech Michelle Obama gave in 2008.

So what did Trump have to say about Obama's latest oratory?

Absolutely nothing, it turns out.

In a sign that even the ebullient Republican nominee may have realised that, for once, there was nothing he could say to one-up Obama, the usually trigger-happy Tweeter kept conspicuously quiet.
