The difference between men and women when it comes to infidelity

The majority of British men do not think human beings are monogamous by nature, YouGov polling shows.

Forty-six per cent of men polled said being faithful was unnatural, compared to 36 per cent who said it was part of the human condition. In contrast women are more likely to say humans are monogamous by nature.

Despite the difference in opinion the vast majority of men and women (72 per cent of men and 73 per cent of women) said that monogamous relationships can work successfully.

The majority of the 1,714 Britons polled also deemed polyamory - having multiple sexual relationships with consent of everyone involved - was morally wrong, although women were much more likely to say it was wrong than men.
