This is what men want from sex, according to new study

A new study of over 2000 adults in the United States and their sexual proclivities has made a very safe for work discovery.

Researchers at Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington have found that gentle romance and affection are some of the most appealing sexual behaviours among both men and women, contrary to the idea that men disparage that kind of sexual activity.

These behaviours include kissing, cuddling, and being held.

In a statement on Science Daily, lead author Debby Herbenick said

Contrary to some stereotypes, the most appealing behaviours, even for men, are romantic and affectionate behaviours.

These included kissing more often during sex, cuddling, saying sweet/romantic things during sex, making the room feel romantic in preparation for sex, and so on

975 men and 1,046 women, aged 18-91 were asked about the sexual behaviours that appealed to them, and which ones they had tried.

91 per cent of the participants identified as heterosexual.

Survey participants were asked if they had tried 30 sexual acts and over 80 per cent reported engaging in masturbation, vaginal sex, and oral sex.

Significant differences between male and female behaviours

43 per cent of men (insertive) and 37 per cent of women (receptive) had engaged in anal sex.

While 65 per cent of men had shared nude or semi nude images, a figure 11 per cent higher than women.

A higher proportion of women (21 per cent) reported never having masturbated, compared to just 8 per cent of men.

A quarter of men told the researches that they had engaged in sucking or licking of toes, compared to just one in 10 women.

Where the sexes were equally perverse, was in preferences for spanking, whipping, partnered masturbation, role playing, bondage, oral sex, and having sex in public.

The survey participants were also shown over 50 sexual behaviours and asked if they appealed to them.

While many of the participants were intrigued by these kinks, much fewer of them had tried the behaviours within the last month or year of being asked.

The most appealing behaviours were those commonly associated with romance and affection.

39 per cent of both men and women found saying sweet or romantic things during sex to be 'very appealing', and 33 per cent found the idea of 'making the room more romantic' to be very appealing.

52 per cent found the idea of cuddling more often appealing.
