With its stunning beaches, colourful neighbourhoods and hilly topography, Rio de Janeiro is known as the Cidade Maravilhosa (the Marvellous City).
When it's shot over a number of days with an 80 megapixel PhaseOne IQ180 camera worth $50,000 (£32,000) it looks even more marvellous than usual.
According to the Atlantic, who interviewed the timelapse video's creator, high definition televisions are usually 1080 pixels high, images that are 4,000 pixels high (or 4K) are usually considered ultra-high definition and the next big thing in television, while 8K is considered to be the next big thing after that.
Photographer Joe Capra decided to take the unusual step of filming this video in 10K - with each raw frame showing 10,328 x 7,760 pixels - and the results are truly magnificent.
By zooming in on the wide angle shots, the level of detail revealed shows just how high the definition of Capra's camera is.
