People on Twitter don't know who David Bowie is

News broke on Monday morning that one of music's biggest names, David Bowie, died aged 69 after an 18-month battle with cancer.

The Londoner is widely regarded to be one of the most influential musicians ever to grace our planet. He was a star, and now he's a legend.

Yet, despite his success and fame - selling around 140 million albums over his career, according to the BBC - there are people who are asking who he is.

Thousands have been paying tribute on Twitter. But some have been left a little confused.

It's perplexing. And upsetting. Where have they all been?
