This Ghanaian teacher has no equipment to teach ICT.

Instead of giving up, Richard Appiah Akoto took to his black board and sketched out Microsoft Word.

He shared the remarkable lengths he went to teach his class in a Facebook post.

Speaking to Bored Panda, Akoto - who is nicknamed Owura Kwadwo Hottish online - was positive about teaching in a rural farming community that lacks basic resources.

Every teacher has a way of presenting his subject to his students.

This is my way.

Sadly, it is common in Ghana for ICT to be taught on a blackboard, according to Pulse Ghana.

A 2015 study into the implementation of ICT learning in Ghanaian secondary schools found that urban school students ICT more than rural students.

But Akoto thinks Ghanaian schools are becoming slowly better-equipped.

The government is helpful and I believe in them, they are trying to make ICT better for the teachers and students.

We need well-equipped infrastructures and teaching and learning aids, and a government who has education at its heart.

His school has now been inundated with donations of laptops and projectors since the post went viral.

His determination has warmed hearts all over the world.

Now people and organisations from across the globe are helping him.

Microsoft helped him go to the Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) programme for professional development, and equipped him with a device from a business parnter.

After seeing his post, a Saudi benefactor at the University of Lees sent him a laptop as a "small gift to his students"

This gift was just the start.

A computer training school based in Accra, Ghana donated five desktop computers to the school, along with books and a laptop for Akoto.
