These gym goers were mocking this woman for her weight on Snapchat, she responded brilliantly

Going to the gym is difficult at the best of times.

Waking up early in the morning, the ridiculous cost, and the fact you're going to be surrounded by sculpted human beings who look unreal are just a few of the major turn offs for the modern-day gym goer.

So when Reddit user southerndraw-er found out that a group of girls at her gym were secretly taking photos of her and sending them via Snapchat, it could have been the last straw for her fitness regime.

But instead of quitting the gym, she stood up to the callous, shallow bullies with an inspiring message.

She wrote:

I’m the fat girl.

This is my first week at the gym and every night after work, the same three girls are there. Today I found out they have been snapchatting pictures of me and making fun of me, but I don’t mind

I’m glad that you haven’t gone through what I’ve gone through. I used to be in shape, I broke my hip and had to give up all exercise. Then my grandma got sick and I took care of her full time, I couldn’t leave her alone because I had no help, so I gained more weight. Then she died, and I ate my feelings and gained more weight. Now I’ve able to honestly say those words. I love myself.

It really sucks that society and your parents raised you that it was okay to try and hurt someone that’s trying to better themselves instead of trying to lift them up, but I’m not mad.

Thank you for reminding me to keep pushing after I had a really long day.

I’m still going to be dieting and working my ass off at the gym every day. It’s not so you, or anyone else, will accept me. It’s for me.

I hope anyone else, who feels ugly or is overweight and has decided to make a life change will keep going. Forget the skinny girls who laugh at you, or the muscly men that tell you you’re gross. Love yourself.

And people have left messages of support for the amazing woman:

I've never understood this. Making fun of an overweight person at the gym is like making fun of a homeless person at a job fair.

If you're Snapchatting and gossiping enough at the gym for it to be a regular occurrence, you're not doing the gym right.

Bet those girls don't even lift.

I used to teach at a gym, and if anyone took anyone else's picture without permission, they'd be banned from all locations forever.

It's a complete violation of privacy, potentially unlawful, opens the gym up to lawsuits, and frankly they're shitheads.

If you don't look like shit at the gym, you're wasting your membership.

As a size 22 girl, I needed to hear this. I've fallen off the wagon so many times because of how I feel I'm perceived by other people in the gym. Tomorrow is my first day back at the gym, and I'm not gonna care what everyone thinks of me! I'm there for me and no one else.

In short: F**k those Snapchat girls.
