Louis van Gaal delivers bizarre, spectacular end of season speech

It may only be the end of his first season in charge of Manchester United, but Louis van Gaal has clearly settled into his role at the club.

As is tradition at United's end of season awards ceremony, the manager is last to go on stage to sign off the night.

Possibly having enjoyed the free bar a little too much or maybe just overwhelmed by hanging out with "the best fans in the world", the Dutchman went on a rambling, but by all accounts thoroughly entertaining, eight minute soliloquy.

After some early crowd control...

He thanked the fans for their patience this season and was optimistic about the years ahead...

Ryan Giggs, his assistant manager, looked mildly terrified throughout...

Perhaps with good reason

There were lots of theatrics

He used the full breadth of the stage

And he pointed lots

And after what appeared to be the end of the speech, Van Gaal returned to the stage to thank the saxophonist (yes, really)
