A band turned Greta Thunberg's UN speech into a death metal song and she's a fan

Just when you thought there was nothing else to add to the discourse around Greta Thunberg’s UN speech, it’s now been turned into a death metal video.

John Meredith, drummer with thrash metal band Suaka, watched the speech and agreed with the message. He thought he could make it even more accessible, tellingRolling Stone:

When I saw her speech, I was very impressed by her passion and outrage. And the words she chose just evoked the darkness of the metal music I love: Entombed, Gojira, At the Gates, Sepultura.

He went on to say:

I guess I didn’t really have a specific intent other than to turn her brutal words into a metal song. My personal stance is that individuals need to do their part to strive to conserve and preserve our environment.

Thunberg has now given the video her seal of approval, tweeting:

The people of Twitter were, naturally, delighted.
