This is the moment Greta Thunberg saw Donald - and it's a mood

Greta Thunberg delivered an impassioned speech at the UN climate change action summit while Donald Trump attended one on religious freedom – much to her apparent chagrin.

The 16-year-old Swedish activist, who told world leaders at the summit that “you have stolen my dreams and my childhood” was pictured glaring at the US president when he walked past her.

Speaking to reporters at the general assembly she said: "This is all wrong.”

I shouldn't be up here.

I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean yet you all come to us young people for hope. How dare you.

You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words.

Donald Trump skipped the climate action summit and attended one on religious freedom.

Taking to Twitter in a seeming barb at the 16-year-old, he wrote:

She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!

 

In August Greta criticised Trump, saying he “doesn’t listen to science” on climate change.

Shortly after arriving in New York City after sailing across the Atlantic Ocean, reporters asked if she intended to meet with Donald Trump.

She told them: “It’s strange everyone always asks me about Donald Trump.”

My message for him is just listen to the science, and he obviously doesn't do that.

As I always say to this question, if no-one has been able to convince him about the climate crisis, the urgency, then why should I be able to do that.
