Lionel Barber, editor of the Financial Times, has just shared the “letter of the decade” – and he isn’t exaggerating.
Nicholas Boyle, a professor of German, wrote to the paper to make a very good point about a previous FT article.
He points out that the article explains how the pro-Brexit wing of the Conservatives are referred to as “f*ckers,” while Remainers are known as “wankers”.
He writes:
Surely this rhetoric inverts the truth? It is the Europobes who shut themselves away in self-gratifying fantasies, while the remainers know that real life is only possible through interaction with others.
And of course, Boyle is now being recognised as the genius he is.
Bravo.
