What do you do when you’re a local landscaping company suddenly thrust into the global spotlight?
That was what Four Seasons Total Landscaping was faced with when an organisational gaff from the Trump campaign meant that a press conference would be taking place at the small business.
In a now deleted tweet, Trump shared that a press conference would take place at the Four Seasons in Philadelphia, before correcting himself to clarify that it was actually happening at a landscaping business with the same name.
Let’s just take a moment to absorb that the end of the Trump presidency kicked off with a press conference in a car park between a crematorium and a sex shop. Not even a sitcom could create something as unintentionally hilarious as this.
So then, what do you do when you’ve become the world’s most famous landscaping business overnight? You make a merch opportunity out of it, of course.
Four Seasons Total Landscaping is clearly in on the joke, as the company has released some new products capitalising on Trump’s fumble. On their website, you can purchase some T-shirts and hoodies, or even better, stickers that read “Make America Rake Again” and “Lawn and Order”.
You have to hand it to them, it’s pretty smart. We’re slightly tempted to purchase a piece of disastrous political history ourselves.
