Donald Trump's love affair with Fox News seems to have come to an abrupt end this week, after the president went on a Twitter rant complaining the network was reporting on the news, rather than serving as his personal cheerleader.
Trump's ire appears to have reared it's rage-tweeting orange head after the news organisation aired a segment on Wednesday that he considered to be promoting his Democrat rivals. So enraged was the president that couldn't stop himself from blasting a stereotypically furious tweet complete with randomly capped up words where he noted:
The New @FoxNews is letting millions of GREAT people down! We have to start looking for a new News Outlet. Fox isn't working for us anymore! [sic]
Fox commentator Brit Hume calmly tweeted back at the president, stating the obvious fact that media outlets are supposed to report on news, not offer blind support to a single candidate.
Which is a fair point.
This could have been a mic drop moment, however Matthew Dowd, a political analyst at ABC News, was unimpressed with Hume's comment, and pointed out that Fox has a history of pandering to the president.
Others have since chimed in echoing Dowd's argument.
