Donald Trump tweets about anything and (almost) everything, so the times he doesn't rattle off 140 characters can sometimes reveal more than his incessant rants.

One person died and 19 were injured when a car was driven into a crowd of anti-far right counterprotesters at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

President Trump's lack of a condemnation of white supremacist rhetoric has been widely criticised following what was seen as a lukewarm response to the incident.

He tweeted a few hours after the incident:

And gave a statement from his golf resort in New Jersey on Saturday:

We are closely following the terrible events unfolding in Charlottesville, Virginia.

We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides, on many sides.

People have noted that he has, however, tweeted in condemnation of non-urgent and obscure issues in the past, immediately:

1. Nordstrom

When the clothing retailer dropped Ivanka Trump's line, this was the President's response from his official Twitter account.

2. Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep gave a speech critical of Trump at the Golden Globes.

He didn't take kindly to it.

3. Snoop Dogg

You may remember the music video in which Snoop Dogg drew a gun on fictitious orange character Ronald Klump.

4. Arnold Schwarzenegger

5. Kristen Stewart

To be fair, he wasn't President yet for this one.

In fact, so strong were his feelings about Pattinson's lovers' squabble, he tweeted about it 11 times. Just in case you missed the first 10.

6. Mitch McConnell

Not that the President never tweets about politics: the Senate Majority leader is hardly safe from his Twitter wrath about the Healthcare bill.

7. Attorney General Jeff Sessions

The President, from his Twitter account, appears to be a man who will pick a fight with seemingly anyone - apart from white supremacists.
