The infamous Conservative Political Action Conference, where the most forthright and influential minds on the American right gather to share their knowledge, kicked off on Thursday.
As you can probably guess, the usual topics of supporting Donald Trump and denouncing anything to do with Democrats was on the bill but the primary focus of the first day was to rally against the Green New Deal.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's proposed policy aims to quash the effects of climate change on the planet and curb America's reliance on factory farming and the damage toll of methane from cows.
However, some prominent conservatives have interpreted this as an attempt to take hamburgers away from the public and that it is ushering in a new form of communism in the United States.
This started with Rep. Mark Meadows who claimed that the likes of an AOC is "trying to get rid of all the cows."
With this Green New Deal, they're trying to get rid of all the cows but I've got good news, Chick-fil-a's stock will go way up because we are going to be eating more chicken.
Even more direct in his criticism of the Green New Deal was former Trump aide Dr Sebastian Gorka, who believes that the Democrats want to take away hamburgers.
They want to rebuild your home. They want to take away your hamburgers. This is what Stalin dreamt but never achieved.
You are on the frontline of the war against communism coming back to America under the guise of 'Democratic socialism,' which is just a PC term for communism.
I want everyone to take to heart that Donald J. Trump will never let that happen and as he said to Congress, 'America will never be a socialist country.'
These bizarre claims and projections of fear are being mocked on Twitter, especially Gorka's odd line about hamburgers.
Conservatives have recently become obsessed with hamburgers after Ocasio-Cortez's chief of staff was photographed eating a burger.
Let's not forget that Republican's really love their hamburgers as evident by this McDonald's advert starring none other than Donald Trump.
