Black protester completely shuts down white Trump supporter's 'go back to Africa' comment

A camo-gear clad man at a Donald Trump rally on Saturday told black protesters to 'go back to Africa'.

The exchange happened in Cleveland, Ohio, as supporters of the right-wing presidential candidate clashed outside the venue with people who would rather the world didn't end.

It follows numerous other allegations of violence and racism at Trump's campaign events. In the latest, the man yelling was caught on camera:

You call yourself an African-American? Go back to Africa! If you're an African first, go back to Africa!

A reporter for TV channel MSNBC posted the video to Twitter.

One woman, visibly shocked by the man's shouting, told him:

Go back to Europe! Y'all brought us here.

The black protester was seemingly referencing the fact that many black people in the US are descendants of slaves bought to the country during the colonial era.

It's not the first time black Americans have been told to go to another continent entirely.

As author Jamie Ford points out, the same racial slurs were uttered at another Trump rally on March 2:

The BBC also spoke to another protester who was told to 'go back to Africa' before being forcibly ejected from Trump's planned rally at the University of Chicago this weekend, which was cancelled when fights broke out before he was scheduled to speak.
