Office worker leaves note on watercooler - responses spiral out of control

Barely a moment has gone by since we learned the devastating news that the Bake-Off is leaving the BBC... but more controversy has already occurred at the nation’s beloved broadcaster.

What is reported to be a BBC worker recently wrote a request asking colleagues to stop plugging in the office watercooler, which, as you might have guessed, keeps water cool.

The note said:

A polite request - Please DO NOT plug in the watercooler. I like my water at room temperature.

I am fed up with having to bend over to unplug the machine, so please DO NOT PLUG it back in.

Workers at Broadcasting House in London were not happy. They promptly scribbled over the note and stuck responses to the watercooler.

One wrote:

But 90% of everyone else likes it CHILLED!!!

Another kept it succinct with:

Get over yourself!!

But the best response, typed, printed and stuck to the machine for ultimate authority, pointed out a rather embarrassing feature the watercooler has that the anonymous perpetrator apparently didn’t realise:

Middle-class problems, huh!

With the machine plugged in and switched on the right tap is chilled water and the left is room temperature.

This you'd realise if you spent a little less time trying to bend the entire world to your will.
