This was the moment a film crew were stood on an erupting volcano

This afternoon, the volcano Mount Etna erupted in Sicily.

A number of tourists, and a BBC camera crew, were caught up in the explosion. At least ten people were injured, but thankfully none of them seriously.

And even though they got out of their very quickly, the camera crew managed to keep rolling as it happened. The footage they got is pretty incredible, giving us a spectacular, up close and personal look at the blast.

Then they leg it, and drop the camera in the snow. But we can’t blame them for that. Incredible work.
