A government accused of war crimes says even it will not endorse Donald Trump

Could-be president of the United States, Donald J Trump, is racking up endorsements from the vile and abhorrent.

For example, white nationalist and former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke, and Jared Taylor who runs the website American Renaissance which claims "one of the most destructive myths of modern times is that people of all races have the same average intelligence".

So far so awful.

This week it emerged that president of South Sudan, Salva Kiir, had allegedly backed Trump.

However, government officials were straight off the bat to shut down suggestions it had endorsed The Donald in any way.

May we take this opportunity to remind you, Kiir's government has been accused by the UN of war crimes, torture, sexual violence, extrajudicial killings and the recruitment of child soldiers.

Still, an endorsement for Trump seemed a step too far - even for them.

A spokesperson for South Sudan’s foreign ministry told Quartz:

There is no truth to [the story] whatsoever.
