Donald Trump has accused Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her 'squad' of saying 'unspeakably bad things' about the Israeli people, and of turning the Democratic party against the nation of Israel.

Speaking on Sunday, the president slammed House Democrats for wanting to take action against Israel, after the nation banned Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar from entering the country for an official visit on Sunday, reports the Daily Mail.

In a tweet, he wrote:

House Democrats want to take action against Israel because it is fighting back against two (maybe four) people that have said unthinkably bad things about it & the Israeli people.

He then added:

Dems have such disdain for Israel! What happened? AOC Plus 4 is the new face of the Democrat Party!

The 'Squad of four' consist of progressive congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar, all of whom are considered to be allies in their politics, as well as being vocal critics of the Trump administration.

Earlier in the week, Netenyahu's government banned Tlaib and Omar from entering Israel, reportedly due to their outspoken support of Palestine and the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, launching them into the forefront of politics, reports AE Daily.

Israel's ban on allowing Tlaib, of Michigan, and Ilhan, of Minnesota, into the country, has sparked controversy, as both Muslim Democrats have supported boycotts of Israel. On Friday, Trump again insinuated that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was 'jealous' of the media attention that Tlaib and Ilhan had received as a result of their ban from Israel.

In a tweet, he wrote:

Like it or not, Tlaib and Omar are fast becoming the face of the Democrat Party. Cortez (AOC) is fuming, not happy about this!

On Thursday, Ocasio-Cortez also responded to the news of their ban, saying on Twitter:

MoC are frequently asked to visit Israel to "see things for ourselves." But Netanyahu choosing to ban the only 2 Muslim women in Congress from entering tells the US that only *some* Americans are welcome to Israel, not all. Trump is exporting his bigotry &making matters worse.

She then showed additional support for her colleagues, retweeting other politicians' outrage at the decision, including from top Republicans such as Senator Marco Rubio of Florida.

In contrast, Trump shared a rant against Tlaib to his Twitter account on Friday, in which he referred to her as 'disrespectful' of Israel.

In a tweet, he wrote:

Israel was very respectful & nice to Rep. Rashida Tlaib, allowing her permission to visit her "grandmother."

As soon as she was granted permission, she grandstanded & loudly proclaimed she would not visit Israel.

Could this possibly have been a setup? Israel acted appropriately! 'Rep. Tlaib wrote a letter to Israeli officials desperately wanting to visit her grandmother.

Permission was quickly granted, whereupon Tlaib obnoxiously turned the approval down, a complete setup.

The only real winner here is Tlaib's grandmother. She doesn't have to see her now!

After he was criticised by Ilhan Omar for implementing Trump's 'Muslim ban' against two members of Congress, Netanyahu issued a statement saying:

Israel is open to critics and criticism, with one exception: Israeli law prohibits the entry into Israel of those who call for, and work to impose, boycotts on Israel, as do other democracies that prevent the entry of people believed to be damaging to the country.

Late on Sunday, AOC quote retweeted Trump's tweet about her not being happy about the media attention given to Tlaih and Omar with a simple laughing emoji.
