Model's side-by-side photos show the difference between Instagram and real life

You may remember when we featured the work of Instagram body positive advocate Chessie King.

The model was using her status on the social media platform to highlight the terrifying dangers of body shaming.

One of her regular methods to promote body positivity on Instagram is to showcase just how much the website can be used to deceive how we view someone's body shape and size.

In a post on Wednesday, Chessie shared a side-by-side image of her in a bikini.

However, she changed her posture in both images to show how easily a pose can change someone's shape no matter how healthy or fit they appear to be.

In the caption for the image, she wrote:

Wouldn't be in a bikini without giving you a chunk of reality. 

Just a little reminder how easy it is to change your body.

We're all guilty of trying to pose to make our bodies look the best it can and that's okay.

But it's photos like the right that help us all feel a little bit normal (I hope).

As we said, Chessie is a prominent advocate of the side-by-side photos, and uses them in a variety of ways.

She has used them to highlight how vastly her aims have changed since she started using Instagram and how easily makeup can manipulate a picture.

Perhaps one of her best series of pictures is to show how easily the truth can be doctored using editing tools.

The most important thing to remember about Chessie's photos and the message she promotes is that Instagram isn't an accurate representation of reality and is literally just a snapshot of a second in time.

In one of her most popular posts she wrote:

How about FEELING good for life? FEELING like a superwoman the whole year round?

Yes '8 week transformations' are amazing to get you going & if you're learning from them AMAZING... but if you just stop there after the 8 weeks, your body isn't going to stay like that forever AND you may have changed your body but not your mindset.

I can change my body in 2 seconds, from the left photo to the right & in both, I feel good.

I know I train consistently, I know I fuel myself well, I know it's okay to let my belly out when I'm sitting down next to the pool.
