UKIP candidate who repeatedly joked about raping Labour MP gets milkshaked while campaigning

We're not quite sure how or why milkshakes have become the perfect way to protest against right-wing politicians and activists but it is now a thing.

After a near miss while campaigning in Truro, Cornwall, Carl Benjamin, the man that has made rape jokes about Labour MP Jess Phillips, was finally a recipient of a drenching of the sugary drink.

The incident occurred while Benjamin was canvassing potential voters for the European elections in the Devonshire town of Totnes, alongside the infamous alt-right figurehead Milo Yiannopoulos.

A video of Benjamin immediately after being hit by the milkshake has emerged on social media, with many protesters heckling the YouTube star, who has previously blamed feminists for the actions of mass murderers.

A police statement about the incident read as follows:

The Totnes Neighbourhood Team were supported by the Specialist Force Support Group but as pockets of disorder broke out, extra officers from Ivybridge, Newton Abbot and Torquay were drafted in to remain on standby in anticipation of further disorder. Luckily that did not happen. One arrest was made for throwing a milkshake.

This comes just a few days after Benjamin was pelted with kippers by a protestor in Truro and after UKIP leader Gerard Batten had his battle bus hit by a milkshake

According to the Daily Mail, the latter incident happened in Plymouth city centre when a 20-year-old woman named Amy Thompson hurled a milkshake at Batten's image, which was on the side of his illegally parked bus, which also received a fine from the city's council.
